The Next Generation in Precision Tonearms
Yet
another tone arm? Or why do we manufacture our own tone arms? Our first tone
arm, the TA-1000, is a complete success. Its sound quality combined with it
standard-setting production quality was the incentive and confirmation that
we were on the right path. Now we will up the ante. We have created the next
generation in precision tone arms.
As always, when we develop a product, we test the conditions for an
exceptional product with optimal functionality and then begin in accordance
with our development budget. There were no financial limitations for the
TA-9000 we could draw on unlimited resources. The objective was to rethink
everything for which an optimal solution did not yet exist on the market.
The Bearings
Even with this, one supposes there are already enough ball bearings.
However, tone arms have a very tricky peculiarity. A tone arm should guide
the needle flawlessly and not create any friction neither horizontally nor
vertically. At best, it should not present any bearing clearance or
friction. This does not work mutually.
If there is clearance, then there is friction and vice versa.
The Arm-tube
The tone arm tube on a tone arm should be as stiff and light as possible
and, at the same time, damping. Until now this has been impossible. Either
it was stiff and light like carbon but without any type of damping and with
a tendency towards resonances within listening frequency. Aluminum tubes and
magnesium die casting were relatively stiff but heavy and also hardly
damping. Or it was made of esoteric mixtures and material combinations which
were rumored to have tremendous properties until tested. A true solution
that verifiably combined all the conflicting features did not yet exist. For
a long time we have researched, tested, listened, measured and begun again.
The resulting product has compensated for all the hard work. A tone arm tube
like this has never been produced before. The two tubes are externally
conical but internally round. Both are made It gets better and better of
aluminum. The tubes are combined with hundreds of connecting elements. The
tubes are bound together tightly by more than 700 pads. These are designed
to be similar to tree branches and are arranged around the inner tube in a
spiral. This is all manufactured as one continuous piece without spaces. In
this way, both tubes are very stiffly joined to each other. To sum it up,
this is an unprecedented arm tube. To date, it accomplishes the
un-accomplishable requirements for a light-weight, extremely stiff yet
simultaneously damping tube. Perfect for every pickup. Perfect for our top
of the line tone arm TA-9000.
Results
An innovative tone arm tube and highly precise, minimal pre-loaded ball
bearings for the vertical and horizontal axes guarantee that the TA-9000
follows the pickup demands, guiding it perfectly and ensures reading every
groove on a vinyl record precisely. It sounds easy until one considers the
details.
The Solution
The ball bearing for horizontal and vertical movement comes from the US
specialist Timken. Timken, in fact, manufactures the ultra-precise bearings
for astronautics. We personally select ours. Only the best of what is
delivered make it into the TA-9000. These bearings, are then meticulously
adjusted and incorporated always from the same experienced specialist. Even
here, we attempt to achieve the demand for zero clearance and zero friction.
We provide both bearings with a little bit of pre-stress that eliminates
clearance and nevertheless maintains extremely low friction. Zero clearance
means the needle is optimally guided in the groove and
can read any information perfectly. The internal cabling consists of a
continuous pure silver cable that leads from the pickup pins to the 5 pin
connecter positioned in the arm shaft. Likewise, a external pure silver
phono cable is supplied. The counter weight is manufactured in brass. It can
be fine-adjusted on a thread. The TA-9000 Arm is available in 9 and 12 inch
versions. The mounting hole pattern is SME compatible.

As

the TA-5000 we use a combination of Different materials which are bonded
with damping elements between the 2 tubes.
Results
An innovative Arm-tube concept combined with pretension-ed Hybrid bearings
ensure that the TA-5000 is a perfect host for any cartridge mounted. The
TA-5000 will perfectly guide the cartridge in the groove.

The
TA-3000 tonearm is designed for all people wanting to use more cartridges
than one but the existing turntable is built only to handle one arm.
If you want to use a Mono cart or a different sounding cartridge in your
turntable the TA-3000 is the perfect solution. With his exchangeable
arm-tubes you can switch between cartridges in 2 Minutes without loosing
stability.
The Bearings
For the horizontal and vertical
bearings only use precision miniature bearings from the manufacturer SKF.
They are very expensive but manufactured to highest quality level. They are
carefully selected. The precision bearings are ultra-precisely adjusted
during the production process. The bearings are added with minimal pre
pressure for zero backlash to achieve a minimum friction and maximum
stability.
The Arm-tube
When it comes to arm tubes - 2 mutually exclusive conditions need to be
combined. Maximum stiffness and low resonance achieved by internal damping.
Very stiff materials are hard and therefore very susceptible to resonances.
On the other side Low-resonance materials are not stiff enough. The solution
is a Dual carbon tube. The two pipes are joined by connecting elements. This
creates a very rigid tube but still having a high damping and resonance
poverty and it is also very light weight.
At the TA-3000 we designed a mechanism which allows exchanging those
arm-tubes within a minute. No loss of fine details. The mechanism is built
to give precision and easy handling.
The Cable
when you consider that the signals of a pickup are very small you can well
imagine, any interruption and each solder joint makes the signal worse. So
we have gone for the cabling of the TA 3000, to a Teflon insulated 6N copper
cable which is continuously from the cartridge pins to the5 pin plug plug.
Without any interruption - For customers who like to try different cables
the TA 3000 is only available with 5 pin connector in the arm shaft.
Azimuth
To set up a pickup perfect it is required to compensate the possible
misalignments of the diamonds and herewith do a proper adjustment of the
angle. Many tone arms do not have this possibility. At the TA 1000 it can be
done very comfortable and the solution is also very rigid and solid so we do
not lose sound quality. At the end of Arm-tube shortly before the Bearing
there is a adjustment option. For this you simply open 3 small screws and
then the arm tube can be swivel for ± 5 degrees so the angle can be adjusted
perfect for each cartridge. If these screws are again tightened the arm tube
sits stiff and perfectly adjusted.
All those adjustments are not lost by exchanging the arm-tube. Arm-tubes are
available in 9, 10 and 12 inch.

After
almost 20 years in which we have exclusively manufactured turntables we now
added a new division. Since October 2014, we produce our own tone arms. Fine
mechanic instruments produced to highest standards exclusive made in
Germany. The new TA-2000 is the "big-brother" of the extreme successful
TA-1000. He uses the same great sounding arm-tube but has a more rigid and
massive Bearing housing. And also uses the Anti-skating mechanism of the big
arms.
In recent years, the number of providers of affordable tone arms declined
steadily and existing arms were regularly getting more expensive. The result

TA-700 is
our new entry into the world of Acoustic-Signature arms.
All the experience we have is built into this new magic tonearm.
The Bearings
We use only Bearings from a well known
Japanese Manufacturer for the TA-700. All bearings are closed version to
ensure no dirt or dust is affecting their lifetime.
The Arm-tube
When it comes to arm tubes - 2 mutually exclusive conditions need to be
combined. Maximum stiffness and low resonance achieved by internal damping.

VTA alignment
The TA-700 comes with a easy to use height alignment construction. By simply
opening one screw the clamping mechanism opens and the arm can be moved up
or down. Closing the screw locks the TA-700 at his position. The mechanism
connects with nearly 360 degrees to the arm shaft - so no micro movements
are possible.
